The client for this site is a performance automotive tuner in Virginia who is starting his own business. He has been working independently for about five years and is now working towards becoming more well known and opening a shop. To do this he needs a solid graphic identity to be used for his business cards and web site and eventually letterhead, brochures, and other printed media. He needs something unique and very memorable which will reflect the feeling of speed and passion, but still be clean and professional.

His market is primarily males in their 20's and 30's who are into fast cars. They are generally men who make good money and want a car that can reflect their status. But they are also men who use their sports car often as a daily driver and want something very reliable and safe.

The original logo used by this customer was designed when he was first getting started, and was something he "just threw together". The general feeling of it was laid back and friendly, but not very speedy or professional. But while many people knew the name of No Shoes, very few had ever seen the logo. He had never had official business cards made up, and had never really publicised the web site he had created, so we were essentially starting off with a clean slate, in terms of brand recognition. In order to really make an impact, he would need a graphic that made a strong statement. That is why he hired me.

Here is what the original logo looked like:

Because it was made just to print out a few stickers, no original document was retained. This is the only remaining version of the original sticker set, so this was all we had to go on from the original graphic identity.
